Untitled - Watercolor & Ink

This was a very quick painting that I did , just to try and let out some emotion!
The contrasts and highlights don't show up as well as they do on the actual painting!
The background is actually more of a light blue, gray, green! To me it shows up here more as a purple type color, or Indigo, which is not true to the original!
If you ever have any questions, please feel free to get a hold of me either by phone or email.
Hope you like it!

Best wishes!

This is a painting that I did of a ceramic pitcher that I happened to find at a rummage sale that I really liked!

Untitled - Oil On Found Canvas

Happy Halloween everyone! This is the third and final painting in this collection. When I say collection I mean that these are really not a series nor a triptych in as much as people generally relate to them as such. But I like them well enough to where when I do sell these pieces they will be sold as a set of 3.  I hope you like this one as well!

Have a safe and fun day!

Best wishes!

Flowers In Green Wine Bottle - Oil on Canvas

I have had this one wine bottle for... I don't know how long! If my memory serves me correctly the wine wasn't all that great, but for some reason I decided to keep the bottle, and have included it in a number of my paintings! This painting has been sold but prints are available, I'm even purchasing one for myself!
Hope that you all like it!

Bus Rider I - Oil

I frequently take the  city bus back and forth across town, it's cheap plus it gives me the challenge & opportunity to sketch the people riding! Anyway I have a stock pile of gestural sketches that I have decided to make paintings from! Of course the people had no idea that I was even sketching them at the time! So made for a very interesting project! For that they did not to hold still for very long!

Thanks for stopping by!

The Prophet - Oil

I know it has bee a while since I posted last, and I apologize for that! I have had a really bad summer cold for the last 2 1/2 weeks :(  But I  am finally starting to feel better :)
I guess the good part is it has given my recent paintings a chance to dry!

Not real sure what inspired me to paint this picture, but I am happy with the way it turned out!

I hope some of you will agree with me :)

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and view this painting!

Hope you all are having a great weekend!

Boarded Up III - Watercolor With Black Gouache

Last chance to bid on my auction! Just a few hours left! And it is a really nice painting!
Anyway I hope all of you are having a wonderful day so far!
This is the third & final painting of this series. I'm sure some of you like these & some of you don't, which is ok! I don't always like some of my paintings LOL. But just stick around for a while and they will change :) Just not sure what I'm going to paint next but I'm sure I'll come up with something! Thanks to all of you who have left comments on these pictures I really appreciate it! :)
Again I used the opposite end of a paintbrush to apply the gouache with. I really like these 3 paintings, and enjoyed painting them! This is actually the first time I have portrayed graffiti in any of my work!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today!
Please take a look at my auction if there's still time left!
I will be making prints available of today's painting also!

Boarded Up II - Watercolor With Black Gouache

Here is the second painting of this 3 part series! I hope you all like it! Again I used the the opposite end of one of my paint brushes to apply the gouache with! I think it's kind of a fun little technique! I am very near sighted at times & couldn't quite make out the address on this building, so I painted in my own LOL.

Anyway, Thanks a bunch for stopping by today! Please don't forget to check out my auction listing on eBay if you haven't already done so. I am going to be making this painting available for prints as well!

I hope that you all have a Fantastic day!

Boarded Up - Watercolor And Black Gouache

Back before I started this blog I had kind of a crazy, unorthodox way so too speak, of pricing my paintings. Which consisted of mainly 3 different factors. 1.) How well I liked the painting. 2.) Medium 3.) Size
But fist & foremost how well I liked it & how emotionally attached I was to it! I have decided to revert back to this method. At least this way you'll know which ones I favor the best!  But rest assured if I post it here I like it, just some more so than others.

Todays painting is actually 1 in a 3 part series. I was influenced to paint this picture from these boarded up apartment buildings across the way from one of my studios, not sure exactly why, I just was!

I used the opposite end of one of my paint brushes to apply the black gouache with!

Anyway I'm really excited about this set of paintings!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Best wishes!

I love being outdoors when the weather is nice, but it has been pretty darn hot & humid here lately! So I got up early when the sun rose to go out & paint these flowers. I love trees, flowers, nature in general. I'm just very bad with the names of plants LOL. I think these are Tiger Lilies though I'm not a 100% sure :)

Untitled XI - Watercolor & Ink

Thought I would change things up a bit today! At first glance you may see a crazy messed up looking kind of face! But in all actuality that is not what I saw when I was painting this picture. It is actually a far corner with red walls in a dark lit bar, with two pictures, one on each wall, along with a bar table & chair. And no I wasn't drunk when I painted this one LOL. This is just a different approach for me. A friend of mine loaned me this book that I've been reading tilted red. Which I think helped  inspire me to paint this picture! I hope some of you like it!

A great big welcome to all of my new followers & thanks to all who have left comments on my work! :)

Small Landscape Study II - Watercolor and Ink

Good morning all :) I can't decide which painting I like better, yesterdays or todays!?
I probably like both pictures equally well! And again the scan of this picture does not do this painting justice!

Ok, now it's story time :) I had a question posed to me the other day that came in on a comment, that reads.

Judy Ferguson said...

Curious about your oil painting. Most painters don't make the crossover from oil to watercolor. Did you start with oil or watercolor?

Answer; I actually started out painting in Acrylics when I was 7 years old, I think I did 2 paintings and decided I didn't like them. Nothing against the medium, but they just weren't for me. So I proceeded to throw a fit LOL.  Until my parents finally gave in and got me a set of water colors & oils, and I have been painting with both ever since.  So there's that story :)
Thanks for asking Judy, I hope I was able to answer your question somewhat.
My life is pretty much an open book, so if any of you ever have a question you'd like to ask please feel free to ask away, and I'll do my very best to answer it to the best of my ability.
Thanks for all of your comments lately :)
Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, I hope you all are having a great week!

Small Landscape Floral Study - Watercolor & Ink -

No I haven't lowered my prices! This is just a smaller painting than normal. In fact I'm planning on raising my prices on my 6"x8" water colors & 5"x7" oils starting the first of this next month! Just a little heads up :)
And if you are new to collecting my work what better place to start than with this painting! It is a very nicely done original water color at a very affordable price!

Anyway I finally got around to dragging out the Winsor & Newton Cotman III watercolor set that my Mom got me for my birthday this lat March! :) Thanks again Mom I love you! I Really like it but it has taken some getting used to. They are sure different from the Winsor & Newton tube paints that I use!
But I do like them!

Anyway for some reason I think the color scan on this painting seems duller to me than the colors on the original painting! And we have had quite a lot of rain here lately, so the sky has been a little cloudy & gray lately. But I was able to get out to do this painting & I'm also including the 2 field sketches that I did for this one! I recall having had a request a while back to see some of my sketches, sorry it's taken me so long to get around to posting any, but the just aren't something  that I usually post here. Even though I do a ton of sketches filling 1 - 2 sketch books a month on the average! Maybe I should start a sketch blog LOL. :)

Thanks for all of your recent comments! I will be addressing a question that was posed to me the other day on tomorrows post!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you like the painting!

Best wishes!

I did this painting last evening, and really had a good time painting it! It was kind of funny in a way, we just had our front porch painted over this past weekend, and I have to go out & clean it today! I tend to get a little messy when I paint, needless to say I painted this picture while sitting out on the front porch LOL.

Hope that you all are having a great day!

House With Red Roof - Water Color & Ink

It has been a very sad day for me :(  A friend of mine stopped by my studio the other day to tell me that his brother another friend & talented tattoo design artist had died from a drug overdose. And today was His funeral. Now I personally don't do funerals, but I will miss him a great deal! I also consider myself lucky and fortunate to have a couple of his drawings that he did for me!~

Even though it has been a sad day I have been trying very hard not to let his death get me down. So this is what I came up with for today. I tend to think of it as kind of a bright and happy painting to help lift my spirits! :)

Anyway I hope your week is off to a good start! And I hope you like this painting! Speaking of bright & happy I did kind of notice what kind of seems like a rainbow in the upper left hand corner of this painting, which I wasn't even aware of right away! But was happy & glad to see it :)

Hope you all like it!

Water Color & Ink - Impression Marigolds

I Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! Here a few days ago I walked across the street to the Church that is right by me to buy a pop and a candy bar. They were selling flowers two for a dollar! So I bought a few of these marigolds to plant in my planters out front which I needed to do anyway! And I figured the money was going to a good cause & to help out the church, so it was a pretty good deal I thought!

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to stop by to take a look at todays painting! I hope that you all like it!

Water Color & Ink - Back Patio Scene

I did this painting early last evening on location downtown. I was really impressed by the layout of the whole scene! Especially the banner on the wall & potted flowers beneath it. I'm going to have to make another trip down there here one of these days,  there's some other really cool scenes there that I think would make for a nice painting or two!

Hope you all are having a great weekend! And I hope that you all like todays painting!
